We are an emerging worldwide provider of luxury therapeutic and personal care services and due to our impending growth, we are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who desires to be part of a new team in a fast paced environment.
Based in New York City, NY, the Payroll & Benefits Administrator will report to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for the administration of the Company's bi-weekly payroll, employer benefit programs and certain accounts receivable activities.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Administering and maintaining database for new hires, terminations, changes, etc.
• Inputting and verifying payroll related data
• Researching and performing follow up on procedures necessary to documentation and accuracy of payroll transactions
• Calculating and confirming proper tax withholdings, deductions, special payments, wage garnishments, etc.
• Generating payroll related reports
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year end payroll statements.
• Coordinating and conducting annual open renewal for benefits, 401k, etc.
• Responding to employee inquiries related to benefit programs and payroll
• Negotiating with vendor or administrator for renewal of benefit programs
• Performing collections functions, researching discrepancies, reconciling accounts as necessary.
• Receive and verify invoices and requisitions
• Prepare, verify and process invoices and coding payments
Position Requirements:
• Associates degree required; college level business/accounting course work preferred.
• Three years of recent previous payroll and benefit administration experience.
• Two years of collections and accounts receivable experience.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office; strong Excel skills, including look-ups and pivot tables.
• Ability to quickly master payroll systems; experience with Ceridian or ADP preferred.
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
• Likes to work in a high volume, fast paced office.
